Ayya Yeshe was ordained at age 21, and soon found a passionate need to take her compassion and spirituality to the streets. She began a grassroots Buddhist charity empowering some of the poorest and most oppressed communities in the world to break the cycle of poverty and oppression.
Her organization is committed to:
– Supporting Non Himalayan monastics
– Empowering and training women and future Buddhist teachers
– Staying connected to issues of social justice in the world
– Engaging injustice with compassion and practical action to relieve the suffering of the world
