Class Description:
The Buddhist theory and practice of compassion is unique and inspiring. Compassion is seen as both the antidote to other’s problems as well as the direct antidote to one’s own struggles. It’s a win-win: good for others and oneself. In this class we will not only look at the buddhist presentation of compassion but also how it is applicable to your everyday life in today’s world. These days it seems problems have become extraordinary – worldwide pandemic, political divisiveness, economic uncertainty, climate change – is compassion the extraordinary solution to these complex problems? Let’s explore.
